Head of Network Services | Banking

Our Investment Bank client is looking for a high calibre to join them as Head of Network Services. This position is responsible for managing and evolving the organization’s global enterprise network across 20+ international sites. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure / Deputy Head of Technology Operations, the role leads a blended team comprising internal staff and outsourced service providers. The role focuses on five primary areas: network operations and lifecycle management, strategic planning and innovation, budget oversight, project delivery, and team leadership and development.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver end-to-end network services, covering design, deployment, and ongoing operations
• Own the architecture, standards, and governance of network solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments
• Work closely with cloud vendors, cybersecurity teams, and business units to ensure seamless integration of network services
• Lead technical input for RFI/RFP processes, including solution design, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and scope definition
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective network solutions
• Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership
• Plan and manage resource allocation to support complex network infrastructure needs
• Oversee the successful execution of multiple concurrent network and infrastructure projects
• Act as the highest escalation point for critical network incidents and operational issues
• Lead, mentor, and retain a high-performing network team

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 15+ years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in a leadership role managing sizable network teams within large enterprises (financial services preferred)
• Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking technologies including LAN/WAN/MAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), firewalls, micro-segmentation, VPN, wireless, IPS/WAF, load balancing, and monitoring/automation tools
• In-depth understanding of modern and emerging network technologies and cloud networking trends
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex network transformation projects
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management capabilities
• Solid understanding of ITIL and operational service management practices
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities across all levels
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, AWS, Azure) are advantageous
